Deadline is reporting Domhnall is in talks to join “A Futile And Stupid Gesture“.
Domhnall Gleeson is making a deal to join Will Forte in A Futile And Stupid Gesture, the Netflix feature about the guys who founded National Lampoon and turned into a comic force that hatched John Hughes, John Belushi, and movies including Animal House and Caddyshack. Forte already was set to play Doug Kenney, and Gleeson will play Henry Beard, who formed the humor magazine with Kenney and Robert Hoffman. David Wain is directing the film, which Michael Colton and John Aboud adapted from the Josh Karp book. Peter Principato and Jonathan Stern are producing.
Gleeson had a most memorable 2015, co-starring in Ex Machina, The Revenant, Brooklyn and Star Wars: The Force Awakens. He picks up where he left off, co-starring with Tom Cruise in the Doug Liman-directed Mena, and then Crash Pad, and he’s back shooting the next Star Wars installment. He had time in his schedule to squeeze in the Lampoon film.
Gleeson’s repped by Paradigm and Dublin-based The Agency’s Karl Hayden.

“It’s weird to say that you have a crush on your father, but I have a professional crush on my dad, Brendan Gleeson. He’s fearless. I thought he was gorgeous in the film In Bruges, though he didn’t come to a very nice end. As his son, it’s kind of difficult to watch.”
Domhnall’s screentest interview can be found after the jump.
